Hook       thesis	My grandparents lived with us since I was young. During the long period of time, they have raised two cats and five dogs. Each of them was very familiar to me. As I always fed them and played with them in my spare time, I found out the different characteristics between cats and dogs. From my experience, I saw that indoor dogs made better pets than indoor cats because of several reasons.

For instance, our dogs were always ready to be touched, held or kissed; every families can play with them. But for cats, things were different. The first cat we had at home always roared at us, even when we were giving food to him. Besides, that black cat never allowed me to touch him, every time I wanted to caress him; he just bowed his back and bellowed at me. Sometimes it even scratched me. For people who want to keep a pet as a company, dog is a better choice than cat.

They can perceive dangers immediately. When something is wrong, they bark to warn people. When their masters are controlled, the dogs will help them by using their teeth. But when masters are in danger, it is always the cat to be the first one run away. So, dogs give you a secure feeling when you live alone or when you have kids or elder people at home. It is something you can’t receive from cats.

But cats do not have the sense of faith at all. Everyone can be their master so long as they give them delicious food. I have always heard stories about dogs that traveled thousands of miles to go back to their former master’s home after been sent or sold to others, but I’ve never heard a cat did such a thing.
