广东外语外贸大学与美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学正在尝试开展英语“以写促学”网上“跨洋互动”活动，第一轮由中国学生在我们的学习网站www.writetolearn.com上发出15篇文章并附写作过程、修改过程的报告，美国的12名硕士生分别对这些文章做出评论，也发到网站上，然后再鼓励他们通过教室联网、skype、QQ及发帖子交换思想，建立网友关系，促成学生在语域和语言得体性上的潜移默化的进步。

Cross-Pacific Exchange is an attempt to facilitate internet communication through Write-to-Learn activities between undergraduates in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China and postgraduates in The Pennsylvania State University, USA. The first round is currently underway: 15 Chinese students’ portfolios where an essay by one or a group of them is presented together with a report of the writing process and/or other supporting materials are available in the website www.writetolearn.com, waiting for comments from their 12 American postgraduate pen-pals. Further free exchange is expected between them through internet-aided classroom interaction, skype, QQ, etc. We are sure that the participants will achieve a lot unconsciously in L2 register awareness and linguistic appropriateness via these activities.
